Tournament Training (Intermediate-Advanced):

This clinic is designed for advanced USTA team tennis players. Each clinic will include a warm-up, specialized drilling, some match play, and fitness. Clinic is designed for a player who wants to become more serious about tennis and begin playing USTA tournaments. Parents must email Nitin before enrollment.

Fall Program 2015: Week of Aug 30-Nov 7
Monday 5-630 pm

Cost per 10 week session:
1 day/week $270 (non-members $300) (15 total hours of instruction)
Drop-in rate per class $40
 


Players on the Rise 2 (Regular Ball) (Intermediate Clinic Ages 11+):

Perfect clinic for junior players whose goal is to play in advanced USTA Leagues and eventually USTA tournaments. Each clinic will include a short warm-up, drills (fed-ball), some match play, and fitness. This program will help develop a more consistent player through repetition and specialized instruction.

Thursday 530-7p.

Green Dot Ball, Full Court (Players on the Rise 1) (Intermediate Clinic Ages 9-10):

Perfect clinic for junior players whose goal is to play in USTA Leagues and eventually USTA tournaments. Each clinic will include a short warm-up, drills (fed-ball), some match play, and fitness. 2 days/week $480 (non-members $540) (30 total hours of instruction)

Orange Ball 60Ft Court (Up and Comers) ( Low-Int Ages 7-8):

Clinic is designed to develop proper technique as well as the understanding of the game of tennis. Clinic will include an abbreviated warm-up, stroke specific drilling, and games. Through the program students will gain a solid base for future development as well as an understanding for how to keep score and play matches.

Monday 5-6 pm and/or Saturday 11a-12p
Cost for 10 week session:
1 day/week $180 (non-members $210) (10 hours of total instruction)
2 day/week $320 (non-members $380) (10 hours of total instruction)

 




Red Ball 36Ft Court (Tiny Tots) (Kids ages 4-6):

Clinic designed to develop motor skills and cognitive learning. Focus will be on hand-eye coordination, basic stroke technique, and enhancing each child’s interest in the game of tennis. This is the perfect program for a young beginner to start the game of tennis and create an interest that will last a lifetime.

Saturday 10-1045am.
Cost for 10 week session:
1 day/week $180 (non-members $210) (10 hours of total instruction)

 


Playing Test

Tiny Tots (Red 36ft): If child is 6 years old or less and wants to move into the Up and Comer program, then he/she must demonstrate the following….

  1. Name the lines on the court.
  2. Show all strokes when asked.
  3. Rally 10 balls every stroke (5 tries).
  4. Rally 10 balls random (5 tries).
  5. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  6. Final approval is at the tennis professionals discretion.

Up and Comers (Orange 60ft): If child is 8 years old or less and wants to move into the POR Green Dot group, then he/she must demonstrate the following….  

  1. Name lines on a court.
  2. Understand scoring system.
  3. Show all strokes when asked w proper grips.
  4. Rally 20 balls (baseline and volleys).
  5. Make 10/20 serves all w proper technique.
  6. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  7. Final approval is made by the testing tennis professional.

POR Green Dot and Regular: If child wants to move into Tournament Training, regardless of age, they must demonstrate the following….

  1. Show all strokes when asked w proper grips.
  2. Rally 20 balls w reg balls (baseline and volleys) w proper technique and grip.
  3. Make 10/20 serves all w proper technique and grip.
  4. Demonstrate basic understanding of court positioning.
  5. Demonstrate basic understanding of shot selection process.
  6. Ability to keep and understand scoring.
  7. Ability to play sets.
  8. All must be done on a consistent basis.
  9. Final approval is made by Nitin Deodhar or Emre Baris.

Tournament Training: If child wants to move into Elite, regardless of age, they must demonstrate the following….

  1. All strokes with proper grip and technique.
  2. Ability to keep a rally for 30 plus shots (6 out of 10 times) on a regular basis (using proper technique and different spins).
  3. Make 10/10 second serve with proper spin. (10 tries).
  4. Able to play sets competing with HS Team and USTA Tournament players.
  5. Show understanding of detailed strategy (Coach will ask questions to be answered by student).
  6. Have solid footwork, intensity.
  7. Understanding of positioning on the court and shot selection.
  8. Testing will be done by Nitin Deodhar.

All make-ups for inclement weather can be done by attending another day’s class. Please call 301-365-1541 as that is our information line and source of relaying any cancellations etc. If signed up for full session there is a make-up week to attend class that may have been missed.
